Google Play Store gets ability to install apps remotely on non-phone devices

Google is rolling out a series of new changes to the Google Play Store that will improve the overall user experience for Android phone users with multiple non-OS based Android devices. The latest update makes it easier to manage apps on non-phone devices with easy installation from the smartphone itself. Google has even introduced dedicated homepages for non-phone devices for easy access to compatible apps.

There are now icons next to the app name indicating its compatibility with phone, tablet, Chromebook, Google TV, and WearOS watches. Additionally, apps can now be filtered by device type, and even relevant reviews are loaded. Dedicated home pages even help users easily browse featured apps and relevant apps for the specific device.

Along with these major changes to improve the usability of the Play Store on phones, a similar feature set is also being made available for the Play Store for web. All of these new navigation improvements with device type and display of useful information are now present on the Play Store for web.

The ability to remotely install apps on other devices is a boon for users who have multiple devices signed into your same Google account. It improves integration between devices and will improve usability.
