Google Keep now lets you drag and drop images to other apps

Google seems to be bringing a new feature to its Keep app. Users will be able to drag and drop images saved in Google Keep to third-party apps. The new feature is aimed at Android users, and it is also beneficial for those who often multitask on their Android smartphones or tablets.

In a Workspace blog post, Google demonstrated how to insert images by dragging them from the Keep app to a messaging app. The action is performed in split-screen mode, where we can see an image taken from the Keep app and added as an attachment to another app.

The new feature seems to be seamless, to say the least. At the Android system level, drag-and-drop functionality has been available for more than a while now, starting with Android 10 to be exact, suggests 9to5Google. We’ve also seen the multitasking ability before in the Google Photos and Files apps.

The report also says that the new capability seems to have worked well on Android tablets and Pixel phones, like the Pixel 6. The feature is rolling out to Google Keep on Android version 5.22.242.00.90.

Google Keep is already one of the best note-taking apps for saving content for texts, note-taking lists, reminders, and pictures. The Chrome extension is also useful for saving images from the web. The new feature is an added convenience.

It follows a recent report suggesting Google is working on rich text formatting in its Keep app. The update will likely bring toggles such as bold, italic, and underline text to the app.
