In a video posted on Monday, Fisker CEO Henrik Fisker revealed that the next Ocean Model will bring streaming apps like Youtube, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video as well as the Google Chrome web browser.
While showing off the various apps available so far, Henrik admits he probably shouldn’t reveal those features and deleted the video soon after.
“In the [Fisker] Ocean… I probably shouldn’t show this yet because it’s not done yet… It’s kind of cool,” he said, running through the infotainment system.
The company will release its second-quarter results on August 3 after the market closes following a 5 p.m. deliveries as well as an update on reservation numbers.
Last week said the model will be showcased during Pebble Beach Automotive Week at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance from August 18-21. The purely electric SUV model made its European public debut at the end of February at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (Spain) and starts at $37,499 for the Sport version.
Earlier in the week, the Ocean model arrived in Los Angeles to begin road tests ahead of mass production and first deliveries scheduled for November in Graz, Austria.
At the end of July, the company confirmed that it would open its first brand experience center in Europe in November. The center will be located in downtown Munich (Kaufingerstraße street) near Marienplatz, one of the tourist points of the German city.
In early June, the company announced it had surpassed 50,000 reservations for the model with the base Sport trim priced at $37,499 before incentives. The Extreme trim level is priced at $68,999 and offers an estimated range of over 350 miles.
CEO Henrik Fisker recently declared the model to be the most sustainable car in the world based on the number of recycled and biodegradable materials used in its production, but also considering the CO2 neutral factory.
Recently, Fisker announced the hiring of former BMW executive Alpay Uguz as senior vice president of global manufacturing. Previously, Uguz served BMW as manager of the Spartanburg, South Carolina, SUV plant and will now help Fisker reach its goal of producing one million vehicles a year by 2027.
