Clear cache, trash of unused apps; here’s how

The iPhone 13 is a very fast and capable phone, but if you want to keep it clean, here’s what you can do.

The iPhone 13 is currently one of the most advanced smartphones on the market. With its A15 Bionic chip inside as well as an efficient iOS 15, each iPhone 13 model is currently among the fastest, if not the fastest phones. However, despite all the advanced technology inside, the iPhone 13 is after a computer and it needs maintenance too. And there are a few things you can do to get the most out of this beefy hardware.

Even though iOS is great at managing resources and rarely shows side effects, there are a few things you should do consistently to keep your phone running in tip-top shape. One of them clears the browser cache of Chrome and Safari, while the other offloads unused apps. And, there are simple steps to do them on your new iPhone.

Clear cache of Safari, Chrome

If you do most of your web browsing through the Apple Safari browser, chances are it has accumulated a lot of cache measuring up to GB. Getting rid of this will free up your storage space and keep it clean. There are simple ways to erase it.

– Open the Settings app and click on Safari.

– Next, scroll down to “Clear history and website data” and tap on it.

– Your iPhone will ask you if you are sure. Tap Clear history and data.

On the Chrome browser, here is what you need to do.

– On your iPhone, open the Chrome browser.

– Then click on More.

– Now you need to tap History and then Clear browsing data.

– Tap the check mark next to “Cookies, site data” and “Cached images and files”.

– Now tap Clear browsing data.

Note that deleting cache files will require you to log back into your accounts on the browser.

Offload unused apps

Offloading apps is a nifty and nifty way to temporarily clear your app data storage without deleting apps. Your app goes into hibernation if not used for a long time, but retains all saved data. In the current version of iOS, the offload function happens automatically. Here’s how to activate it.

– Open the Settings app, then tap App Store.

– You must now activate the option “Offload unused applications”.
