Apple’s app store price hike is seeing its effects on apps and in-app purchases as the company has increased its tax changes among developers, leading to more expensive payments, but it’s also hitting Android for a any reason. Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android are two different operating systems that run from different companies, and one surely won’t affect the other in terms of policies etc.
However, this is currently not the case as developers are also raising prices for Android users despite no policy or price change.

Back in September, Apple announcement a price hike for its App Store, and it takes effect today, October 5, where users will see price changes for the app and in-app purchases. This is unavoidable for developers as they have to raise their prices to consumers to avoid any revenue loss, but the surprising part here is that Android users are also feeling this change.
According Eurogamer“Pokemon GO” Niantic has already announced this price increase to everyone, but the company felt that it was not only for the iOS platform but also for Android users.
It’s important to note that Google hasn’t announced any price changes for its Play Store on Android, which means that this change comes directly from the developers.

Will this be visible on more apps?
It is both fair and unfair for users to suffer this price hike. Just because it will see the same prices for people’s in-app purchases on “Pokemon GO”, and it will apply to all platforms.
But it’s also unfair to Android users who don’t have Play Store changes from their parent company, unlike Apple’s announcement.
Yet, it is possible that this is observed by other developers who offer their apps for the App Store and Play Store.
Apple App Store Pricing
Apple is infamous for its massive commission rate that several companies have already levied against the company, especially with its 30% revenue that only distributes 70% to developers. Tesla CEO Elon Musk once spoke out against this, saying it was 10 times higher than what he expects to be Apple’s rate for all purchases.
The only change Apple has made for this is to have a developer commission cap, specifically with a 15% lower commission rate for those with less than $1 million in revenue for the year.
However, those who exceed one million in revenue for the year would have to pay the full 30% per App Store policy.
Epic Games and “Fortnite” have already fought Apple over this policy, specifically for its offers of a third-party payment option that violated App Store policies.
Now Apple has brought in another price hike and developer tax changes for the growing inflation in the economy, and it’s now affecting all users, including those coming from Android. It seems the developers want to be fair to iOS and Android users for their in-app purchases, but there are complaints about the price hike that made Android users pay more despite the lack of changes .
